Today, we celebrate Catechetical Sunday and give thanks for the gift of faith formation in our parish community.
Our youth are taking the lead! 🌟 Through their faith, service, witness, and participation, our young people remind us that they are not only the future of the Church—they are an important part of the Church today.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our youth, catechists, parents, and all who faithfully share the Gospel and help others encounter Christ. 🙏🏼

Changes to Our Adult Bible Study
Dear Community,
After some discernment, I want to share a small change we will be making to our Bible study program. Because of the length and commitment needed for Fr. Mike’s Bible in a Year, I realize it's difficult for us to experience it together as a parish community, as I had hoped. For our parish study together, I have felt called to take a different path—one that will allow us not only to learn about our faith but also to encounter its beauty and to be drawn closer to Christ and to one another.
For this reason, we will begin Bishop Barron’s Catholicism series. Some of you may have experienced this series before, but I would love to offer it again, especially for those who have never had the opportunity to journey through it.
Bishop Barron has a beautiful gift for presenting the Catholic faith in a way that connects Scripture, tradition, history, art, beauty, the saints, and the deepest questions of the human heart. It is more than simply a study—it is an invitation to see our faith with fresh eyes and to rediscover the beauty of what we believe.
Bishop Barron is now introducing the 4th edition of the series. While the heart of the content remains the same, the presentation and digital resources have been renewed, making the experience even more accessible.
I hope that this will be more than a weekly class. I hope it will become a spiritual journey we make together as a community—learning, praying, reflecting, and growing closer to Christ.
Because I want to prepare the materials well and create an environment where we can truly engage with one another and go deeper into our faith, participation will be limited to 25 parishioners.
If you feel called to join us on this journey, please sign up using the new registration form available in the narthex this weekend. Spots are limited, so I encourage you to register early. I look forward to walking this journey with you.

After three years of formation, 12 people were certified as spiritual directors in May through the School of Spiritual Direction for the Diocese of Little Rock. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor celebrated a special Mass May 17 at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock for the students, their families and other program participants.
New Acolytes Take Their Next Steps - August 9th
Our candidates for the permanent diaconate took a significant step forward in embracing this beautiful ministry entrusted to them by the Lord. As the program director, it fills my heart with joy to witness these candidates and their wives getting closer to ordination.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our Bishop, our dedicated formation team, and everyone involved—especially the families of our candidates and their children, whose sacrifices have made this journey possible.

The Living Stations of the Cross have been a grace for our community. As we walk with Christ, we remember: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).

The Greek word “τετέλεσται” (tetelestai) indicates that our debt has been paid in full, we have been restored and made whole again.
Easter Vigil Mass
It has been a triduum full of blessings. We are so proud of the spiritual growth in both communities. We are deeply grateful to welcome new members as we continue our journey toward heaven, our true homeland. Without a doubt, God has blessed our community in many ways, and we give thanks with joyful hearts.
Italy Jubilee Pilgrimage
Our St. John’s pilgrims are off to a blessed start on their Jubilee Pilgrimage through Italy!
They began in Turin, visiting the resting place of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati and praying before the Shroud of Turin. They journeyed to Pisa for Mass at the Cathedral and climbed up the Leaning Tower before heading to Florence.
In the past few days, they’ve been exploring the beauty and faith of Florence, Siena, and Orvieto. 🙏
Please keep Father Mauricio, Father Samy, and all our pilgrims in your prayers as they journey together on this pilgrimage of faith. 💒✝️
